Leader update and internal video editing

Quarterly messages, all-hands segments and team updates recorded straight to camera, edited so people can follow them and finish them.

What these videos are

A leader update is one person speaking to camera, often from a prompter, sometimes from notes. It goes out to employees through email, the intranet or a team channel. The audience is busy and watching at a desk or on a phone, so the edit has two jobs: keep it short, and make sure every word is easy to hear and read.

Takes and flubs

Few people nail a prompter read on the first try. The usual footage is several full takes plus a lot of stop-and-restart. We pick the cleanest version of each sentence across all takes, then hide the joins with a slight punch-in or a cutaway, so the message plays as one continuous read. If a line was never said cleanly, we flag it before the cut rather than forcing a bad edit through.

Sound and picture fixes

  • Room echo from glass-walled offices, reduced so the voice sits forward
  • Air conditioning hum and laptop fan noise taken down
  • Levels evened out so nobody reaches for the volume halfway through
  • Color and exposure matched between takes recorded on different days
  • Webcam framing tightened when the speaker sat too far back

On-screen text

Internal updates often include numbers, dates or names that people need to remember. Putting those on screen as plain text cards helps anyone watching with the sound off. We use your fonts and colors and keep the cards short. Figures and dates on screen come from your script or your notes, never from our reading of the audio, and we highlight them in review so someone checks them.

Captions and languages

Captions are standard on every internal video we deliver, as a burned-in version and as a caption file for your video platform. If your team translates the script, we can lay subtitle files in other languages over the same cut. Tell us the languages in the brief.

Confidential material

Internal videos sometimes mention plans that are not public yet. We work under your NDA if you have one, keep footage in a private project, and delete working files after delivery when you ask. The privacy policy covers how details sent through the form are handled.

Questions

Can you turn around a monthly update on a schedule?

Yes. Recurring updates get a fixed template for titles, captions and the opening card, and an agreed delivery window that goes into the quote.

Can you cut a long town hall into short pieces?

Yes. Send the recording and the topics you want pulled out, and we'll cut one short video per topic with captions.
