Recruiting video editing

Employee interviews cut into a careers-page video, role-specific clips for job posts, and short pieces for social, all from the same shoot.

What a recruiting video needs to do

Someone thinking about a job wants to know a few plain things. What does the work look like day to day? Who will I be working with? What happens in the first week? Will anyone help me when I get stuck? A good recruiting video answers those in the voices of people who already do the job. Polish matters less than whether the answers sound true.

So the edit leans on specific lines. "The team is like a family" says very little. "On my second day my lead walked me through the whole line twice" says a lot. When we read through the transcripts, we look for that kind of detail and build the video around it.

One shoot, several videos

VersionTypical lengthWhere it runs
Careers page video1 to 2 minutesYour careers site and recruiter emails
Role clips30 to 60 secondsIndividual job posts and job boards that accept video
Social cuts15 to 45 secondsLinkedIn, Instagram and other feeds, captioned for sound off
Event loopAny length, silentCareer fairs and lobby screens, with on-screen text

List the versions you want in the brief so they are all in one quote. Cutting several from the same paper edit costs less than ordering them one at a time later.

Several employees, one story

Recruiting shoots usually cover four to eight people. We sort their answers by topic rather than by person, so one employee can start a thought and another can finish it. That keeps the pace up and shows the range of people on the team. If a person needs equal screen time for internal reasons, tell us and we'll balance it.

Names, titles and consent

Lower thirds use the names and titles you send, exactly as written. Please confirm that everyone on camera signed your release before the video goes public. If someone leaves the company later and asks to be removed, we can recut the video from the original paper edit.

B-roll

Shots of the workplace give the viewer something to look at while people talk. Send whatever exists: floor footage, desks, break rooms, the parking lot at shift change. We pick shots that match what the speaker is describing, and we can blur screens, badges or anything that shouldn't be readable.

Questions

Can you cut a video for each open role?

Yes, if the interviews cover each role. Name the roles in the brief and point us at the people who do them.

Do you add captions?

Yes. Captions are burned in for social and delivered as a file for platforms that support them. Spelling of names and job terms gets checked against the list you send.
